The UM BIG EVENT will be the largest community service project in the history of The University of Mississippi! Ole Miss Students will serve their neighbors in the Oxford/Lafayette Community. Grab your friends, grab a rake and come be a part!
The purpose of the UM BIG Event is to dedicate a day of service to the community while building relationships between students and community members. Through positive interaction students will say thank you to the Oxford and Lafayette area for the support the students are given throughout their tenure at the University. This event will give students the opportunity to show appreciation to the community through individual interaction with community members. The Big Event will also build a positive connection between students and the citizens of the Oxford and Lafayette community. By actively participating in these projects we would like to instill the value of service in our students. It is our hope that students will use this event as a spring board to volunteer their time to other service projects in the future. Not only does this event support the Chancellor's goal of service for the university community it will also create well-rounded and humble students.
