Cultural Connections Program

 

                   The  International Ladies Club "ILC" is one of the most successful groups for international community at Ole Miss offered through the Cultural Connections Program. The Cultural Connections Program "CCP" (link) is a collaborative project of the UM Counseling Center , the Office of International Programs , and the Psychological Services Center , that offers several other groups and services for international community at Ole Miss, such as the Cultural Connections Club "C3", Cultural Connections Mentor Program , International Learning Exchange "ILEX" , and "Diverse Diggers", International Volleyball Team.

                 The goal of the International Ladies Club is to offer an opportunity for international community at The University of Mississippi to connect with others, learn from each other, and share unique knowledge and experiences. This club is open for international students, faculty, staff, and their female family members, as well as American woman that are interested in making international friendships. We provide support in adjustment and acculturation while living and learning in the U.S.

              Within the International Ladies Club meetings you can meet new friends, enjoy conversations while having refreshments offered by the UM Counseling Center, practice your social and English speaking skills, learn new skills and teach others your hobbies or interests, practice your presentations, and talk about challenges and practical tips to overcome them. Often times we celebrate birthdays and other significant events, as well as go to field trips. Every club member is welcome to offer activities and ideas that can be done within the ILC.

              Here are some of the activities that ILC offered in the past:

• Shopping Trip to Tupelo, MS
• A visit to a sorority
• Tailgating in the Grove for football games
• Picnic at Sardis Lake
• Yoga in the Grove
• Jean Jones walk/run for Cancer
• Belly Dancing Classes
• Traditional Dress-ups
• Origami Workshops 
• and many others

Otherwise, you can simply show up at our meetings every Wednesday 11am to 1 pm in Academic Support Services Board Room (Martindale 3rd floor, next to the Office of International Programs - map) during the regular academic year.
