The governing body of the sororities at Ole Miss affiliated with the NPC.

What and when is Formal Recruitment?

Formal Recruitment is the official process to join a sorority affiliated with the National Panhellenic Conference (NPC). Formal Recruitment begins October 17th and ends on October 24th.

What is the minimum GPA requirement?

Panhellenic requires potential members to have a 2.5 GPA to go through Recruitment. Panhellenic no longer accepts grade petitions for those going through recruitment.

What about letters of recommendation?

It is important to have ONE letter of recommendation per house. Chapters have strict rules requiring that they give top consideration to those applicants who have recs.

Who should write a letter of recommendation?

An alumnus of the specific chapter to which you are applying should write the letter of recommendation. If you do not know any alumnae, you may contact your local Panhellenic Association for referrals. You will need to send a résumé and picture to the person writing your recommendation. All ‘recs’ must be sent to the chapter addresses provided on the website, not the Greek Life Office.

What does maximizing my options mean, and how do I do it?

Maximizing your options means ranking every house that you attend during parties. For example, if you attend six parties during Skit Round, you must rank all six houses. For Preference Round, if you visit three houses, you must rank all three houses to be guaranteed a bid. If you maximize your options through each ranking process, you are guaranteed a bid on bid day.

Remember to keep an open mind, be yourself, and have fun!
