The University of Mississippi

About the UM Recovery Community

Established in 2010, the UM Recovery Community is one of a growing number of collegiate recovery communities across the nation on university campuses and was the first university program in Mississippi. We provide an oasis from the pressures to use alcohol and drugs and help our members not just succeed, but thrive, in the university environment.

Our first member graduated in 2012 with a higher-than-average GPA. We look forward to many more graduations!

Mission Statement
The UM Recovery Community provides support so students can successfully pursue academics, social life and recovery. The community provides resources and a strong network to help integrate students into college life.

UM Recovery Community will create a truly student-centered environment that reinforces individual and group aspirations by providing academic support, civic engagement, outlets for personal growth and social activities.
